A large part of what we do involves establishing clean and accessible water supply systems, basic sanitation facilities and promoting proper hygiene practice in the communities that we serve. We regularly engage in lifesaving interventions from time to time when the need arises.
We are also working towards bolstering food security and self reliance in the vulnerable communities of the region by coordinating training programmes for farming communities and giving them access to modern tools, equipment and techniques.
We endeavor to help the poor by implementing income generating projects; our recent implementation of a micro-credit program designed to spur entrepreneurship in South Central Somalia was a great success. Through the initiative, we provided capital to local women groups; giving impoverished IDP families a means of generating income and earning a decent living.
